ABA Bank and National Bank of Canada today announced the agreement for an additional USD 20,000,000 investment. Upon completion of the transaction, National Bank of Canada will have increased its shareholding in ABA Bank from 30% to 42%. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Following its corporate tradition, on 20th of December ABA Bank held its annual corporate party in Phnom Penh. This year, around 700 employees of the Bank from all over Cambodia attended the event.

The agreement authorizes ABA Bank to issue and accept UnionPay cards under the license of UnionPay International.

ABA Bank announces the opening of its three new branches in the provinces. Two of these branches are located in Paoy Paet and Svay Rieng provinces bordering Thailand and Vietnam accordingly. The third branch covers one of the central provinces of Cambodia, Kampong Chhnang.

The cooperation enables ABA Bank to offer its customers an additional channel of sending and receiving money outside the country. IME’s network extends to 25 countries with around 100,000 locations worldwide including USA, Australia, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and more.
