How​ to​ pay​ with​ Thai​ QR/VietQR​ via​ ABA​ Mobile

The​ ABA​ Mobile​ app​ users​1 must​ have​ a​ Khmer​ Riel​ account​ to​ pay​ with​ Thai​ QR/VietQR.​ The​ account​ in​ KHR​ can​ be​ created​ in​ ABA​ Mobile​ instantly​ and​ free​ of​ charge.​ It​ becomes​ available​ right​ after​ opening.

To​ pay​ with​ Thai​ QR/VietQR​ using​ your​ ABA​ Mobile​ when​ in​ Thailand​ or​ Vietnam,

  • Launch​ the​ ABA​ Scan​ feature​ of​ your​ ABA​ Mobile​ app;
  • Scan​ Thai​ QR/VietQR​ displayed​ by​ the​ merchant;
  • Enter​ the​ amount​2 and​ confirm​ the​ transaction​ with​ your​ credentials.

1 The ABA Instant Account holders must upgrade their accounts to full-fledge accounts at any ABA branch to use ABA Mobile to scan Thai QR/VietQR codes for payments in Thailand/Vietnam.
2 The transaction limit for payments with Thai QR/VietQR is 10 million KHR per day.

It is a standard QR Code payment system in Thailand / Vietnam that allows ABA Mobile users to scan and pay with with all Thai QR/VietQR codes at any merchants/outlets with the "Prompt Pay" or "VietQR" from the following banks:Thailand

What is the transaction fee per transaction?
Free of charge.
How can I use the ABA Mobile app to pay with Thai QR / VietQR (Static and Dynamic)?
  • For user who has default account as KHR
    • Launch ABA Mobile App
    • Scan on Thai Merchant QR Code of “Prompt Pay / VietQR ”.
    • Enter the amount for (Static QR)/No need to input amount for (Dynamic QR).
    • User will see how much amount will be debited from KHR account base on amount user input in Thai Baht.
    • Tap “PAY NOW”.
    • Confirm 4 digits PIN.
    • Success Payment.
  • For user has default account not in KHR.
    • Launch ABA Mobile App.
    • Scan on Thai Merchant QR Code of “Prompt Pay / VietQR”.
    • Select on eligible account list (KHR account only).
    • Enter the amount for (Static QR)/No need to input amount for (Dynamic QR).
    • User will see how much amount will be debited from KHR account base on amount user input in Thai Baht / Vietnamese Dongs.
    • Tap “PAY NOW”
    • Confirm 4 digits PIN
    • Success Payment
  • For user who don’t have KHR account in eligible account list.
    • User can manually create Mobile Saving account in KHR currency.
    • After the user has created a mobile savings account in KHR successfully.
    • Then users can process payment as per above description in point #2.
*This payment service is applicable for ABA customers with full KYC, ABA instant accountholders are not eligible. (ABA instant accountholders will receive a message “Invalid QR” when they pay with Thai QR / VietQR.)
What are the necessary steps for me to become a full KYC customer as an instant account holder?
Please walk-in to the nearest ABA branch to complete the entire full-KYC process.
Will I receive a notification in my ABA Mobile after successfully making a Thai “PromptPay / VietQR” payment through the app?
Yes, you will.
What should I do if my phone gets disconnected or switched off while making the Thai “PromptPay” or Vietnam "VietQR" payment on ABA Mobile?
You can simply relaunch the app and verify your transaction history to check if the payment has been executed. An active internet connection is required to do this.
If the payment has not been executed, you can try making the payment again.
