ABA​ Bank,​ the​ largest​ commercial​ bank​ in​ Cambodia​1 and an​ active​ corporate​ citizen​ of​ the​ country,​ proudly​ announces​ its​ top-tier​ achievement​ in​ the​ Education​ category​ at​ the​ prestigious​ AmCham​ Cambodia​ 6th​ CSR​ Excellence​ Awards​ 2024.​ This​ accolade​ recognized​ ABA's​ commitment​ to​ providing​ underprivileged​ students​ in​ Cambodia​ with​ access​ to​ quality​ education​ through​ its​ School​ Renovation​ Project.

The​ award​ ceremony,​ held​ on​ 29​ January​ 2025,​ honored​ businesses​ that​ have​ demonstrated​ exceptional​ corporate​ social​ responsibility​ (CSR)​ initiatives​ throughout​ the​ country​ within​ the​ previous​ year.

ABA​ Bank's​ innovative​ and​ impactful​ contribution​ to​ the​ education​ sector​ stood​ out​ among​ numerous​ entries,​ showcasing​ its​ active​ effort​ to​ foster​ education​ growth​ and​ earning​ the​ Bank​ this​ esteemed​ award.

ABA's​ School​ Renovation​ Project:​ A​ Vision​ to​ the​ Future​ of​ Learning

Access​ to​ quality​ education​ is​ one​ of​ the​ main​ pillars​ in​ ABA's​ CSR.​ In​ 2023,​ the​ Bank​ launched​ the​ School​ Renovation​ Project​ to​ enhance​ learning​ environments​ across​ five​ provinces:​ Svay​ Rieng,​ Takeo,​ Kampong​ Chhnang,​ Kampot,​ and​ Kampong​ Speu.

The​ project​ encompasses​ a​ wide​ range​ of​ activities,​ from​ refurbishing​ classrooms’​ exterior​ and​ interior​ and​ providing​ study​ materials​ to​ adding​ more​ facilities​ such​ as​ libraries,​ football​ fields,​ computer​ classes,​ and​ constructing​ new​ buildings.​ All​ catered​ to​ the​ specific​ needs​ of​ each​ school​ and​ aimed​ at​ enhancing​ the​ overall​ learning​ environment.

The​ first​ three​ missions​ were​ comprised​ of​ the​ following​ schools:​ Hun​ Sen​ Kampong​ Ro​ High​ School​ in​ Svay​ Rieng​ province,​ Sok​ An​ Thnol​ Bombek​ High​ School​ in​ Takeo​ province,​ both​ successfully​ renovated​ in​ 2023,​ and​ two​ Muslim​ schools​ in​ Kampong​ Chhnang​ province,​ accomplished​ in​ 2024.

To​ date,​ the​ project​ has​ collectively​ improved​ the​ learning​ conditions​ for​ over​ 1,400​ students​ across​ the​ three​ provinces.​ With​ the​ increase​ in​ students’​ enrolment​ and​ academic​ performance,​ it​ is​ evident​ that​ the​ initiative​ is​ making​ a​ lasting​ positive​ impact​ on​ the​ educational​ landscape​ and​ community​ as​ a​ whole.

With​ strong​ support​ from​ dedicated​ staff​ and​ local​ communities,​ clear​ communication,​ and​ efficient​ resource​ management,​ ABA​ remains​ committed​ to​ ensuring​ the​ sustainability​ of​ its​ School​ Renovation​ Project.​ The​ Bank​ will​ continue​ delivering​ meaningful​ educational​ initiatives​ to​ the​ communities​ that​ need​ them​ most,​ reinforcing​ its​ dedication​ to​ CSR​ and​ educational​ advancement​ in​ Cambodia.
