ABA ranked as Cambodia's largest Tax on Income payer in 2022

ABA Bank, the largest Cambodian commercial bank1, received a Letter of Appreciation from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, that praised the Bank for becoming the most significant Tax on Income payer for the financial year 2022. As per Cambodian tax practice, commercial entities must pay their Tax on Income by 31 March of the year.
The Bank's adherence to Cambodia's tax obligations and regulations has proven its persistent dedication and transparent practices toward maintaining good corporate tax governance, which is reflected in this achievement.
In the letter, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated, "I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of ABA Bank, who has declared and paid tax on its annual income for 2022 and was accredited as the largest payer of the Tax on Income among the top ten enterprises that declared and paid such tax for the year 2022.
"The Bank's fulfillment of the tax payment obligation is an excellent example for other enterprises, as it reflects a high level of tax compliance and good corporate tax governance. Furthermore, I highly praise and admire the enterprise for its indispensable contribution to Cambodia's economy and social development."
In the beginning of March 2023, ABA received another Letter of Appreciation from the Prime Minister that praised the Bank's contribution to the national economy development for being the second-largest taxpayer in 2022.
Recently, ABA Bank was also granted a "GOLD" Certificate of Tax Compliance from the General Department of Taxation for three consecutive years: 2019, 2020, and 2021. It reflects the Bank's strong commitment and transparency to tax compliance.
