ABA Bank supported as a Gold Sponsor the Student Research Competition 2015 hosted by the National University of Management on February 18, 2016. The event was held under the topic “Clean and Green City” and the winners were awarded by Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s Research Prize.

The competition was launched in June 2015 and received 378 applications from students of 20 universities. In August, the shortlisted candidates were invited to the training workshop on research skills, presentation skills, and government’s policy on clean and green city. Only 10 out of 30 teams were selected for the next stages including presentation and submitting the full research paper. As a result, three winners were awarded with the First Prize worth $1,000, Second Prize of $600, and Third Prize of $400. The winners also received certificates and Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals respectively.

“This is my first time to gain such an experience and knowledge about research and communication between society and authorities. I will share my knowledge among my friends and also explore it into my study,” said Sin Soromnea, representative of the winner group from Royal University of Law and Economic (RULE). “I am excited that my group concept note was announced the winner. We will now work closely with the Ministry of Environment to convert this into action,” she added. Ms. Soromnea group’s concept note, which received the First Prize, was titled “Creating Environmental Awareness through Art Project Based Learning”.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Theam Romny, ABA’s Toul Kork Branch Manager in particular said, “The support of this event reflects ABA’s corporate social responsibility and is also in line with our Vision, Mission, and Values. We are glad that this event can bring real contribution to the brighter and greener future of our country through proper education of the young generation.”
