ABA Bank sponsors the 1st Annual Cambodia Accountancy Conference 2019

ABA Bank became the Main Sponsor of “The First Annual Cambodia Accountancy Conference 2019” that took place in Phnom Penh on 18 December 2019. Organized by the National Accounting Council (NAC) in cooperation with Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) and presided by H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, the inaugural event gathered around 600 professional attendees from government institutions and agencies, private companies, and non-profit organizations.
Under the topic “Role of Accountancy in Digital Economy”, the conference set up a session for accountants, auditors, and financial professionals to stay updated with the latest development in the accountancy profession in Cambodia and hear from industry experts about best practices and trends.
During his opening speech, H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth said, “The objective of this event is to update the attendees on the progress of Cambodia’s accountancy sector, accountant’s role in the digital economy, and to earn their involvement in drafting and improving political and regulation framework to magnify the role of regulator and accountant in the digital economy age.”
Through this sponsorship, ABA displays its commitment in joining hands with the Royal Government of Cambodia to support the development of the accountancy sector, which is considered as a supporting pillar of the sustainable economic progress.
