ABA Bank, Cambodia’s largest commercial bank, has officially joined the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) as a Confirming Bank. The partnership was formalized at the ADB Cambodia Resident Mission on 11 September 2025, witnessed by Jyotsana Varma, ADB Country Director for Cambodia, and Zhiger Atchabarov, Executive Vice President, Deputy CEO, and Chief Operating Officer of ABA Bank, along with representatives from both institutions.

Through this agreement, ABA Bank will play a greater role in facilitating cross-border trade by acting as a Confirming Bank under the TSCFP. This means ABA can now provide additional security and guarantees to Cambodian exporters and importers, enabling them to access new markets and trading opportunities with greater confidence.

"We are proud to partner with ADB under the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program. This milestone positions ABA Bank at the forefront of supporting Cambodia’s integration into global supply chains, while ensuring our clients—especially SMEs—have more secure and reliable access to trade finance,” said Zhiger Atchabarov, EVP/DCEO/COO of ABA Bank."

The ADB’s TSCFP bridges market gaps by providing guarantees and loans to support trade in developing Asia. By reducing risk for participating banks, the program enables them to extend trade finance more widely, particularly to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are often underserved.
