ABA Bank maintains B+/Stable/B credit rating from S&P Global Ratings
30/Oct/2026

ABA Bank continues to hold a B+/Stable/B issuer credit rating from S&P Global Ratings, reflecting its established market position, strong funding profile, and profitability above industry peers, as highlighted in the agency’s latest report.
The stable rating outlook on ABA reflects S&P’s view that the Bank will maintain loan growth, sufficient deposit mobilization, and sound underwriting standards over the next 12-18 months.
S&P recognizes ABA’s leading position in Cambodia, describing it as having a “dominant business franchise in Cambodia with strong retail deposit base.” As of December 31, 2025, ABA held about 20% of Cambodia’s deposits and 17% of its loans, confirming its position as the country’s largest commercial bank by deposits and loans.
The Bank’s expanding digital and physical networks reinforce its market presence and ability to serve customers across Cambodia. The S&P report emphasizes the strategic importance of ABA’s digital capabilities: “ABA’s extensive digital platform will continue to underpin its strong business position. ABA’s investments in technology, both in-house development and partnerships, have established it as a leader in Cambodia. This provides a competitive advantage, particularly in transactional banking”.
ABA’s funding strength is another key advantage. The Bank’s loan-to-deposit ratio remained below 80%, compared with an industry average of approximately 114%. S&P describes ABA’s funding position as strong, supported by its established franchise and advanced digital offering.
S&P also notes that ABA’s return on average assets has remained significantly above the industry average, stating that profitability “will remain stronger than most industry peers”.
The report’s findings underscore ABA Bank’s established role in Cambodia’s financial sector and its continued focus on digital innovation, disciplined growth, and delivering accessible banking services to individuals and businesses nationwide.
