Job Purpose
The job purpose of a Database Administrator (DBA) is to manage and maintain the Bank's databases, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with business requirements.
Location
- Head Office, Phnom Penh (03 posts)
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Installation and updating of new software – install new versions of oracle database software, oracle application software, core banking application (Flexcube) and other software related to oracle administration.
- Maintenance of database servers, core banking application servers and related servers.
- Controlling access permissions and privileges of databases.
- Maintaining secure storage of databases backup.
- Arranging stand-by database, real application cluster and disaster recovery of databases.
- Troubleshooting any oracle database problems.
- Ensuring maximum uptime.
- Ensuring maximum performance.
- Restoring database to testing environment (UAT).
- Development and testing support – helping programmer and software engineers to efficiently utilize the database.
- Responsible for documenting the configuration of database and troubleshooting scenario.
- Configures and patches Oracle.
- Implements HA and DR using Data Guard and RAC.
- Builds and manages Data Guard Physical/Logical Standby Databases using Data Guard Broker.
- Participates in design reviews as required to ensure database design meets the best practice.
- Proactively performs database monitoring and performance tuning tasks.
- Identify and provide solutions to performance issues in multiple database environments.
- Provides automation to standard DBA tasks.
- Able to develop scripts on UNIX platforms as necessary.
- Reviews and enforces adherence to the company's Architecture, as well as database design and usage standards.
- Understands database high availability technologies and guides the company in implementing appropriate solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as DBA or in banking sector
- Holding Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate is preferable
- Experience with Linux System Administration
- Must be available to work night time shift
- Be honest, quick learner, flexible and punctual
- Willing to work as a team
- Willing to learn new technology and more self-motivation and self-study
- Good English and Khmer communication (both written and spoken)
- Able to work longer hours under minimum supervision and under pressureAble to solve problem independently.
