ABA Bank expands cross-border QR payments to Malaysia, promoting digital use of Khmer Riels
12/Dec/2025

ABA Bank has officially launched cross-border QR payments in Malaysia, enabling customers to make seamless transactions through the ABA Mobile app. Beginning 12 December 2025, ABA clients can conveniently scan and pay using DuitNow QR at participating merchants and outlets across Malaysia.
Using the service is simple: launch the ABA Scan feature in ABA Mobile, scan the DuitNow QR code displayed by the merchant, enter the payment amount, and confirm with the app PIN. There is no limit on the number of daily transactions, and the daily maximum amount is capped at 2.9 million Riels.
This initiative promotes secure and convenient cross-border payments while supporting Cambodia’s transition toward a cashless society and encouraging increased use of the Khmer Riel. "Introducing cross-border QR payments in Malaysia reflects our efforts to enhance international services that meet our customers’ needs. With ABA Mobile, users no longer need cash withdrawals – they can simply scan and pay, just as they do in Cambodia, and enjoy fast, secure transactions," stated Sanzhar Abdullayev, Chief Card & E-Payment Officer at ABA Bank.
ABA will continue to expand digital payment solutions that strengthen the use of the national currency through digital transactions and promote financial inclusion across Cambodia.
