UnionPay International cards are now available at ABA Bank

ABA Bank announces the launch of issuing UnionPay International cards (UPI) starting from May 1, 2015. Now, ABA Bank customers can apply for UnionPay International cards and join the second largest payment platforms in the world.

The issuance of UPI cards is the next logical step in the frame of cooperation set in contract between ABA and UnionPay International signed in March 2014.

According to the reached agreement, ABA Bank replaces the issuance of its ATM cards with UPI cards. Issued ATM cards can be changed in any branch of the bank at zero cost. Moreover, UPI card from ABA Bank is now available free of charge for everyone!

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Sanzhar Abdullayev, Head of Card Services Department, in particular stated, "Here at ABA, we always wish to bring our clients the ultimate convenience in choosing a product or service. In this connection we have built cooperation with UnionPay International, one of the world’s largest payment systems whose popularity is continuously growing, especially in Asia. Adding UPI cards to the list of our payment services that already include VISA and MasterCard provides additional opportunities for our customers and primarily those who often travels across Asia and have business relations in China.”

In 2015, ABA Bank plans to issue more than 10,000 UPI cards, significantly develop the POS infrastructure and thus become the largest issuer in Cambodia. Further on, the Bank plans to issue UnionPay Classic, UnionPay Gold (debit), and UnionPay Gold (credit) cards.
