Hong Kong, July 17, 2015 – ABA Bank has been named the “Best Bank in Cambodia 2015” by the respected financial publication Euromoney.

The top honour – the second award given to the bank by the magazine since 2014 – was bestowed on ABA at an awards ceremony for winners across Asia held at the Island Shangri-La hotel, Hong Kong, on July 16, as part of Euromoney’s annual Awards for Excellence gala dinner.

Madi Akmambet, the Executive Director of ABA Bank, said: “Our latest results prove the success of ABA's business model. The last year has been very intensive, yet it was one of the most successful years for the bank. Thanks to well-coordinated teamwork, we have successfully launched a number of new products, improved quality of service, established and strengthened trusted relations with international financial institutions, and further developed a risk management system.”
“As a consequence, ABA Bank had remarkable results and became more sustainable, which led to an increase in the number of new clients. I would like to thank all our team for their hard work and our valuable clients for their confidence in ABA,” he added.

In its write-up about the Best Bank award, Euromoney said, “Yet again, the clear winner in the fast-growing Cambodian financial services field is ABA Bank. Underlying the country’s - and indeed the lender’s - potential was the 30% purchase of ABA bank by National Bank of Canada that was further increased to 42% in January 2015. At the end of last year, ABA boasted assets of around $500 million. It posted earnings of $7.5 million in 2014, a figure it is on track to beat this year.
ABA Bank is rolling out an integrated multi channel banking system in 2015, allowing customers to bank via the internet or their cellphone, whilst also offering free round the clock web chat service."

The award is also a reflection of the bank’s consistent delivery of state-of-the-art products and exceptional client service.

The Euromoney award joins a host of trophies that ABA Bank has garnered previously. ABA won Euromoney’s “Best Bank in Cambodia 2014” award last year and was named “Bank of the Year 2014” by The Banker financial publication. ABA also earned the accolade of “Best Bank in Cambodia 2015” from Global Finance magazine. The awards show the strong position of ABA Bank in the market and its desire to be the best bank possible for its customers.
