ABA Bank supports Cambodia FinTech Day

In contribution to the development of financial technology (FinTech) in Cambodia, ABA Bank became a proud sponsor of Cambodia Fintech Day that took place at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh on October 2, 2019.
Organized by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) via Mekong Business Initiative and Australian Embassy in Cambodia, the event aimed at creating an opportunity for discussion among the government, policy makers, regulators and relevant stakeholders on the growing role of FinTech and its contribution to the development of financial sector and economy in Cambodia. It also offered a platform for knowledge sharing from stakeholders related to the new development of FinTech in their respective institutions and jurisdictions.
The event attracted around 300 participants from NBC, related ministries’ representatives, the Bank of Thailand, the Bank of Korea, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, banking and financial institutions, and key FinTech players within the region.
The outcome from the event’s discussion will be used by the policy makers and authorities to comprehend the current state of FinTech in Cambodia and the world, and to design better policies and regulations to support FinTech growth in the Kingdom.
