Empowering youth through history: ABA Bank funds student visits to SOSORO Museum
30/Jun/2025

To empower financial literacy among Cambodian students, ABA Bank is pleased to contribute another $5,000 to the Preah Srey Içanavarman Museum of Economy and Money (SOSORO) in 2025. It marks the Bank's second year in supporting the “Banking Sector Program for Economic Literacy” project initiated by the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC).
As part of this initiative, SOSORO and ABC will collaborate to provide free museum visits for students across Cambodia, offering them the opportunity to explore the nation's rich economic history, spanning nearly 2,000 years, through permanent and temporary exhibitions, monetary artifacts, and modern interactive displays.
On 26 June 2025, a certificate handover event was held in conjunction with a visit by more than 100 high school students from Kampong Cham province, aimed at deepening their understanding of Cambodia's financial architecture, monetary development, and currency evolution.
“This initiative serves as a meaningful opportunity to connect finance, history, and education beyond the traditional classroom setting. We at ABA are proud to play a role in making this educational experience accessible to students across the country,” commented Igor Zimarev, Executive Vice-President/Chief Marketing and CSR Officer at ABA Bank.
ABA remains steadfast in its support for initiatives that promote financial literacy and education among Cambodia's future generations. We encourage everyone to visit the SOSORO Museum and immerse in this engaging experience of the country's unique monetary journey.
