ABA backs Cambodia's national boxing team for LA 2028 journey and beyond

Empowering the next generation of Cambodian athletes, ABA Bank is proud to become the official sponsor of the Cambodia Boxing Federation for 2027.
Under the LA 2028 Olympic Games Qualification Event 2027 Performance Program, ABA will provide monetary support covering a full year of intensive training and sports nutrition programs. This program is designed to support national athletes as they prepare for upcoming qualification events and international tournaments.
On 26 August 2026, the MoU signing ceremony was attended by Igor Zimarev, Chief Marketing and CSR Officer of ABA Bank, H.E. Buy Sophoan, President of the Cambodia National Boxing Federation, alongside their respective teams and the national athletes.
"We at ABA Bank are pleased to stand alongside the Cambodia Boxing Federation to elevate national boxing standards through world-class preparation. This program will help athletes gain international exposure and compete at a higher level. We look forward to seeing Cambodian boxers pursue Olympic qualification and continue making the nation proud," stated Igor Zimarev.
Since 2022, the Federation has secured 18 international medals at the SEA Games, Asian Championships, and other international tournaments. Most recently, Cambodian boxers have earned a gold and a bronze medal at tournaments in China and Armenia, respectively. These accolades reflect the continued progress in elevating Cambodia's presence on the global stage.
