In​ effort​ to​ promote​ tech​ startups​ and​ build​ a​ dynamic​ tech​ community​ for​ Cambodia,​ ABA​ Bank​ became​ a​ proud​ Gold​ Sponsor​ of​ BarCamp​ ASEAN​ 2019​ conference​ and​ exhibition,​ which​ took​ place​ at​ the​ Phnom​ Penh’s​ Institute​ of​ Technology​ of​ Cambodia​ (ITC)​ on​ October​ 12–13.

The​ two-day​ international​ tech​ event​ was​ organized​ by​ BarCamp​ Cambodia​ team​ with​ the​ support​ from​ the​ Ministry​ of​ Education,​ Youth​ and​ Sport,​ Ministry​ of​ Posts​ and​ Telecommunications,​ and​ ITC.​ Under​ the​ theme​ “Together​ Towards​ A​ Digital​ Future”,​ it​ brought​ together​ 97​ high-profile​ speakers​ to​ discuss​ and​ share​ on​ 75​ topics​ surrounding​ the​ current​ situation​ of​ tech​ companies​ and​ startups,​ digital​ innovation​ and​ skill​ sets​ needed​ in​ the​ sector.

In​ addition​ to​ the​ financial​ support,​ ABA’s​ Chief​ Digital​ Officer​ Zokhir​ Rasulov​ became​ one​ of​ the​ keynote​ speakers​ of​ the​ event,​ sharing​ the​ journey​ of​ ABA​ Bank​ in​ transforming​ the​ lifestyle​ of​ Cambodian​ people​ through​ digital​ finance,​ while​ the​ digital​ team​ members​ ran​ a​ session​ to​ present​ ABA’s​ digital​ innovations​ and​ working​ environment​ to​ the​ participants​ who​ showed​ a​ great​ interest​ in​ building​ their​ career​ with​ the​ Bank.​

This​ year,​ BarCamp​ ASEAN​ gathered​ more​ than​ 5,000​ people​ who​ are​ national​ and​ international​ tech​ company​ owners​ and​ representatives,​ startup​ founders,​ entrepreneurs,​ employers​ and​ employees,​ and​ students.​ The​ event​ was​ initiated​ in​ 2016​ by​ BarCamp​ Cambodia​ team​ which​ consisted​ of​ 20​ individuals​ and​ other​ 100​ volunteers.​ Their​ mission​ is​ to​ create​ a​ space​ for​ members​ of​ the​ tech​ startup​ community​ to​ share​ stories​ that​ matter​ and​ to​ strengthen​ the​ community​ where​ people​ can​ learn​ from​ each​ other​ for​ their​ betterment.​
