ABA Bank launches 3d-secure service for safer online payments

ABA Bank is the first Cambodian bank to launch 3D-SECURE service for its VISA & Master Cardholders. The 3D-Secure system provides an extra layer of protection when making transactions online. This technology is available for both MasterCard and VISA cards while making purchases through the websites protected by “MasterCard SecureCode” and “Verified by VISA” security systems.
ABA Bank's Head of Card Dept., Mr. Sanzhar Abdullayev stated: "Together with the growing number of internet users in Cambodia, the number of fraudulent actions is increasing too. After activating 3D-Secure feature on your ABA card, you will get extra protection and confidence during making online payments, as well as reduce fraudulent activity. We hope this new feature will assure our customers that using payment card from ABA Bank is the most secure way to do online purchases".
From December 1st, ABA Bank customers who have registered their payment card for the 3D Secure service will receive One-Time Password (OTP) as a unique online identifier when carrying out any transaction online. The OTP will be sent either by SMS to the phone number or by e-mail, both registered in the Bank. The cardholder then uses that OTP to validate online transactions.
The service is free of charge and applicable for all VISA or MASTER card products. It can be activated for customer’s e-mail address or mobile phone number in any ABA Bank branch or via Internet Banking.
