ABA Bank launches cross-border QR payments with ABA Mobile in Thailand

ABA Bank proudly announces the launch of cross-border QR payments with the ABA Mobile app in Thailand. This innovative service allows ABA Mobile users to seamlessly scan and pay with Thai QR/PromptPay QR codes at around 7 million outlets across Thailand.
To pay with Thai QR/PromptPay QR, the ABA Mobile app users must have a Khmer Riel account. The Savings Account in Khmer Riel can be opened in the app in under one minute and becomes available immediately. The ABA Instant Account holders must upgrade their accounts to full-fledge accounts at any ABA branch to use ABA Mobile to scan Thai QR/PromptPay QR codes for payments in Thailand.
The scanning process is the same as for scanning KHQR codes in Cambodia – ABA Mobile users need to launch the ABA Scan feature on their app, scan the Thai QR/PromptPay QR displayed by the merchant, enter the amount and confirm the transaction with credentials. The transaction limit for Thai QR/PromptPay QR is 10 million riels per day, while the daily number of transactions is unlimited.
This convenient solution eliminates the need for physical cash and the hassle of currency exchange and offers free-of-charge transactions, ensuring a cost-effective and user-friendly experience for ABA Mobile users.
