Global Finance awarded ABA as 'Best Bank in Cambodia 2015'

ABA Bank is proud to be awarded as the ‘Best Emerging Markets Bank in Cambodia 2015' by Global Finance magazine. This award recognizes the commitment of ABA’s team to provide its clients with the tailor-made products and innovative financial solutions.

The editorial judges at Global Finance – with input from industry analysts, corporate executives and banking consultants – chose ABA as the country’s winner based on such criteria as significant growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, and launch of innovative products. In addition, a poll of Global Finance’s corporate readership was conducted in order to increase the accuracy and reliability of the results.

"We are honoured to receive this award from Global Finance magazine for the many achievements we've had with our business operations recently," said Askhat Azhikhanov, CEO of ABA Bank. "Last year was indeed a very strong year for ABA. We reached a remarkable threshold of a half billion US Dollars in assets and increased our net profit by 85%. Today, ABA Bank is surely on an upward trajectory, outperforming the growth rate of Cambodian banking sector as a whole”.

“Banking markets around the world are changing dramatically in the face of a new regulatory landscape and changing conditions. Some global players are reduce their footprints and product lines, while some regional and local players are expanding beyond their home markets,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “We honor those banks that have the deepest commitment to the markets in which they operate and understanding of the specific needs of customers based in those markets.”

The official award ceremony for Best Banks winners will be held on October 10, 2015 in Lima, Peru during the annual World Bank Group and IMF Meetings.
