ABA Bank, a leading commercial bank and active corporate citizen of Cambodia, contributed US$ 35,000 to the Kroch Chhmar Referral Hospital in the Tboung Khmum province. The funds are donated for the upgrade of the Hospital from Level 1 to Level 2 in order to provide treatment for around 469,000 people (239,000 of which are females) living in four nearby districts and improve the quality of diagnostics.

The donation ceremony was presided by Dr. Keo Vannak, Director of the Tboung Khmom Provincial Health Department, Ms. Romny Theam, Chief External Affairs Officer-Regional Manager of ABA Bank, and other distinguished guests at the Kroch Chhmar Referral Hospital.

Speaking during the donation handover ceremony, Romny Theam said, “The Kroch Chhmar District Referral Hospital plays a critical role in all aspects of helping to maintain and improve the health system in this area. ABA is supportive of the upgrade of the Hospital to Level 2 in order to provide better treatment capacity and medical facilities that have a wider range of services than in the existing Hospital. Our modest contribution reflects ABA's continued commitment to positively impact local communities, and we hope it will help the doctors in their meaningful work".

The Kroch Chhmar District Referral Hospital was established in 1966. Its vision is to implement the health policy and health strategy of the Royal Government in the Tbong Khmum province.

Earlier this year, ABA Bank also contributed US$ 100,000 each to TYDA and AMT Associations and donated US$ 200,000 to the Cambodian Red Cross to support their humanitarian activities.
