ABA Bank donates US$200,000 to the Cambodian Red Cross for its humanitarian programs

ABA Bank, the leading Cambodian commercial bank, announced its charitable contribution of US$200,000 to the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), commemorating the 159th Anniversary of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day that falls on 8 May 2022. The donation from ABA will be used to support the humanitarian activities of CRC throughout the country.
The donation ceremony was graced by H.E. Ouk Maly, Deputy Governor of NBC and Head of Financial Committee of CRC, Askhat Azhikhanov, Chief Executive Officer of ABA Bank, and other distinguished guests at the Cambodian Red Cross headquarters in Phnom Penh.
Commenting on the benefaction, Askhat Azhikhanov said, "The Cambodian Red Cross plays a vital role in strengthening community resilience and alleviating difficulties of the most vulnerable people in Cambodia, especially during natural disasters like floods and droughts. ABA Bank is thankful and fully supportive of government initiatives providing emergency aid, community healthcare, and social welfare for all Cambodians. Our modest contribution reflects ABA's continued commitment to positively impact local communities, and we hope it will help the Cambodian Red Cross in their meaningful work".
CRC is a leading philanthropic organization in Cambodia established in 1955 under the leadership of Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen.
It is officially recognized by the Royal Government as the primary auxiliary to the public authorities in humanitarian services. It has been involved in various disaster relief programs, humanitarian efforts, and welfare activities in Cambodia.
