We are proud to be named the Best Bank in Cambodia again

ABA Bank received the "Best Bank in Cambodia 2016" award from the international financial publication Euromoney. This title bestowed on ABA becomes the third consecutive award from the respectful magazine.

Following the announcement of the winners, Mr. Askhat Azhikhanov, the CEO of ABA Bank, stated, "It is an honor to be named as the Best Bank in the country for the third consecutive year. This recognition confirms the way we develop our business model. Last year, we supported thousands of microbusinesses and medium enterprises across the country with our business loans program. We introduced new digital banking solutions, launched the first full-scale mobile app in the country, and significantly invested in our branch network expansion. All these, coupled with our successful efforts to partner with National Bank of Canada, who recently became our major shareholder, made this award possible."

In its write-up about ABA Bank's award this year, Euromoney's editor Clive Horwood said, "The most dynamic name in Cambodian banking is ABA Bank, whose net profit more than doubled in 2015 while its asset base climbed by 60%. Return on equity, at 19.2%, is among the highest in Asia. In a vote of confidence, National Bank of Canada increased its stake in ABA from 30 to 90%, bringing with it financial injections to help with branch expansion, microfinance and SME lending, which will be the engines of Cambodia’s youthful private sector."

By tradition, the awards ceremony for winners of the Best Bank award across Asia will be held at the Island Shangri-La hotel, Hong Kong, on July 14, as part of Euromoney’s annual Awards for Excellence gala dinner.

The latest Euromoney award joins a host of trophies that ABA Bank has garnered previously. ABA won Euromoney’s “Best Bank in Cambodia" award in 2015 and 2014, and was named “Bank of the Year 2014” by The Banker financial publication. ABA also earned the accolade of “Best Bank in Cambodia” from Global Finance magazine in 2015 and 2016. The awards show the strong position of ABA Bank in the market and its desire to be the best bank possible for its customers.
